The present invention relates to a rotary drum-type anaerobic digestion apparatus which supplies a high-concentration liquid obtained by pretreating various kinds of organic wastes into a cylindrical rotary drum installed to be able to rotate by a motor and performs anaerobic treatment so methane gas can be produced, wherein the organic wastes include sludge generated in a sewage disposal plant and a wastewater disposal plant, livestock excrement generated in a stockbreeding farmhouse or the like, etc. The overall structure of the apparatus is very simple and the volume thereof can be minimized so the apparatus is easily manufactured and installed. The cylindrical drum is intermittently rotated to agitate the high-concentration liquid so sediment is prevented from being deposited and hardened on the inner bottom surface of the drum even without a separate agitator. Also, even the sediment which may be deposited can be easily removed by using a drain valve. Furthermore, when the temperature in the drum falls to a predetermined value or lower or rises to the predetermined value or higher, hot water is circulated and supplied into the drum by a signal from a temperature sensor mounted in the drum, thereby controlling the temperature in the drum. In addition, a coil-type hot water circulation pipe is formed in the drum so the temperature in the drum can be easily, quickly and stably controlled to the predetermined temperature. Accordingly, the growth of anaerobic microbes injected into the cylindrical drum is promoted so the production rate of the methane gas is remarkably increased.
