In a case where touch time of the touch operation detected by the detection unit is shorter than a predetermined period of time, the control unit performs control for changing the reception condition such that the reception unit does not receive the touch operation in accordance with at least one of the content of the processing and content displayed on the display screen.

1. An apparatus comprising:
a detection unit configured to detect a touch operation performed on an operation panel that displays a display screen; an execution unit configured to execute an action corresponding to the touch operation detected by the detection unit; and a suppressing unit configured to suppress execution of the action by the execution unit in accordance with a type of function being executed in the apparatus and/or the display screen being displayed on the operation panel, wherein, in a case where a predetermined function is being executed in the apparatus and/or a predetermined display screen is being displayed on the operation panel, the suppressing unit suppresses execution of an action by the execution unit corresponding to a first touch operation of which a time between a touch determination and a release determination is shorter than a predetermined time.
