PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a wheelchair that prevents a user from falling by automatically locking a move of the wheelchair when the user stands up.SOLUTION: There is installed a detection mechanism 2 for detecting that a user stands up or not from the seat 11. When the detection mechanism detects that the user stood up, casters are locked by a locking/unlocking mechanism 5 of casters 3, automatically locking a move of the wheelchair to prevent the user from falling. The detection mechanism has on the seat part an auxiliary seat part 21 that descends by weight when the user sits down and that ascends by spring when the user stands up. Through an operation transmission mechanism 6 that interlocks with the descending/ascending of the auxiliary seat part, the locking/unlocking mechanism is made to operate which locks the casters, in the structure of the wheelchair.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 1 |
