PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an engine capable of reducing PM generation amount at a time of cold start.SOLUTION: An engine configured so that fuel of a hot start fuel value Q1 is supplied to a combustion chamber in a case of hot start for which an engine temperature exceeds a predetermined cold start determination temperature value T1, and so that fuel of a cold start fuel increased value Q3 higher than the hot start fuel value Q1 is supplied to the combustion chamber in a case of cold start for which the engine temperature is equal to or lower than the cold start determination temperature value T1, is configured so that an electronic control unit exerts a control to start supplying the fuel of a cold start starting fuel restricted value Q2 when starting the engine in a case of the cold start for which it is detected that the engine temperature is lower than the cold start determination temperature value T1 in S7, and subsequently to start supplying the fuel increased to a cold start fuel increased value Q3 in a case of successful preheating for which it is detected that a preheating operation in which an engine rotating speed is equal to or higher than a preheating lower limit speed N2 is kept for a preheating set period t1 in S11.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 2 |
