The present invention provides a method and a device for processing service traffic. The method for processing service traffic of the present invention comprises: a home gateway (HG) sends a registration request message to a server, the registration request message comprising an identifier of the HG; the HG receives a policy control packet that is returned by the server and corresponding to the identifier of the HG; and the HG determines a tunnel to be used for transmission according to the policy control packet and a packet carrying the service traffic to be sent, and sends, through the determined tunnel to be used for transmission, the packet carrying the service traffic to be sent. According to embodiments of the present invention, the HG is capable of comparing the packet carrying the service traffic to be sent with the policy control packet, to determine a transmission tunnel corresponding to the packet carrying the service traffic to be sent, and therefore the fine control of the transmission of the service traffic is implemented by the HG. |
