A washing machine is provided with: a housing having an opening provided on the front face side; a water tank provided within the housing and storing washing water; a slide device for elastically supporting the water tank; a drum rotatably provided within the water tank; and a motor for rotating and driving the drum. The washing machine is further provided with: a water tank opening provided in the peripheral side surface of the water tank in an openable and closable manner; and a drum opening provided in the peripheral side surface of the drum in an openable and closable manner and allowing laundry to be inserted and extracted therethrough. The slide device has: a slide body for enabling the water tank to slide in the front-rear direction between a pulled-out position and a received position; and a support device for elastically supporting the water tank. When located at the pulled-out position, the water tank is supported by the slide body located within the housing.
