The present invention relates to a golf ball recognition method for a golf simulation device. The method can be used to accurately determine whether a golf ball image assumed in an image screen recorded by the golf simulation device is an actual golf ball and prevent the golf ball recognition error in order to make the analysis of the golf ball′s location, movement path, and speed easy. The method for the golf simulation device which recognizes the golf ball in the image screen recorded by a camera and a light emitting device linked thereto includes the steps of: preparing the recorded image screen; determining whether the golf ball pixel assumed in the image screen is within a designated pixel limit range; forming a square surrounding the center of the assumed golf ball; calculating the size of the assumed golf ball and the formed square, respectively; determining whether the size ratio of the square and the golf ball corresponds to a designated fixed limit range; and recognizing the assumed golf ball as an actual golf ball. |
