The present invention provides an array substrate for a liquid crystal display device to reduce an increase in the driving voltage of the liquid crystal display device. The array substrate includes a substrate; a thin film transistor formed on the substrate; a protection layer which covers the thin film transistor; a first and a second pattern formed on the protection layer; a first and a second protrusion which are stacked on the first and the second pattern; a pixel electrode which covers the first protrusion and is connected to the thin film transistor; and a common electrode which covers the second protrusion and is alternately arranged with the pixel electrode.
