The present invention relates to a method and an apparatus for activating a scan function of a first electronic apparatus. The method of the first electronic apparatus comprises the following processes of: transmitting, to a server, scan time information of the first electronic apparatus and information indicating information to be scanned; and activating the scan function at the time corresponding to the scan time information, in order to receive the information to be scanned from a second electronic apparatus received the scan time information of the first electronic apparatus and the information indicating the information to be scanned from the first electronic apparatus. Therefore, the power consumption according to execution of the scan function by the first electronic apparatus can be reduced.
