Disclosed are an apparatus and method for providing regional information including regional characteristics. The apparatus for providing regional information includes: a database storing regional characteristics including the types of regional facilities, the use of regions and regional themes, population information of each region, an income level of each region and regional service information; a region boundary generation module extracting the smallest boundary of a region set by a user based on data in the database or generating boundaries by regional characteristic of the region set based on the regional characteristics of the region; an information integration module integrating the boundaries information by regional characteristic received from the region boundary generation module and the information previously stored in the database; and a control module extracting statistical data of each region based on the data received from the database, the region boundary generation module, and the information integration module and generating a regional marketing strategy for each region based on the extracted statistical data.
