The present technology is to provide an image sensor comprising a depth detection pixel, and a method for generating depth information using the same. The image sensor has a plurality of pixels including a plurality of color detection pixels and a plurality of depth detection pixels arranged in two dimensions, and comprises a photoelectric conversion layer configured to correspond to the respective pixels. The color detection pixels individually include: a first light condensing layer on an upper part of the photoelectric conversion layer; and a band pass filter layer interposed between the photoelectric conversion layer and the first light condensing layer. The depth detection pixels may individually include a second light condensing layer which has a larger diameter than a diameter of the first light condensing layer. The image sensor can suppress interference as to an external environment, and can generate accurate depth information. |
