Data transmission method

The method involves sending data from a user application of a subscriber via a network to a user application of another subscriber under the control of transactions and/or information elements of a transport protocol added to the data and containing field names and field values. The transport protocol is used by an external application and additional signaling in the transport protocol is used to connect to an external user application. Independent claims are also included for the following: a transmission and/or reception unit and a communications system for data transmission and/or reception between user applications over a network.
