<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a methane fermentation treatment method of a sludge circulating returning type by which efficient and stable treatment can be carried out with high load. <P>SOLUTION: In the methane fermentation treatment method, when garbage is a substrate, for instance, and an organic substance where a ratio of COD (chemical oxygen demand) originating in a solid to total COD is 70% or less, for instance, is subjected to methane fermentation, a reactor is operated with volume load of 5 kg COD/m<SP POS="POST">3</SP>/day or more, with continuous supply of the substrate to the reactor between 5 and 30 days (including once or plural times a day), for instance, and with substrate supply stopping period between 4 and 20 days, with (digestion) sludge (circulation) return and with 30 days or more of sludge retention time (SRT) in the reactor based on summary of microorganisms and undecomposed originating solid substances. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2013,JPO&INPIT |
