A power generating apparatus 1 comprises a turbine rotor which drives a generator. The system further comprises a support structure 4 and an inductive auxiliary transformer 6 arranged in use to transmit auxiliary power from the shore via an export cable 7 to the power generation system 1. The transformer 6 comprises a primary coil 6B in communication with the support structure, and a secondary coil 6A in communication with the power generating apparatus. The coils may be biased towards each other e.g. by spring 11. Auxiliary power thus supplied may be used for activating a clamp between the power generating apparatus 2 and support structure 4. |
