PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a nonaqueous electrolyte secondary battery including a positive electrode active material showing high charge and discharge voltages, and improved in cycle degradation and life property.SOLUTION: A nonaqueous electrolyte secondary battery comprises: a positive electrode including positive electrode active material particles including a transition metal oxide showing charge and discharge potentials of 4.5 V or larger at a metallic lithium counter electrode potential.
