PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a heat storage system capable of achieving a size reduction and ensuring high-density heat storage irrespective of the temperature of a heat source while eliminating holding means for holding a heat storage material.SOLUTION: A heat storage system comprises: an engine 1 generating heat and releasing the heat to cooling water; and a heat storage unit 2 storing the heat. The heat storage unit 2 is configured to change to a first phase state that is a solid state if a temperature of the heat storage unit 2 is equal to or lower than a phase transition temperature, and to change to a second phase state that is a solid state if the temperature of the heat storage unit 2 exceeds the phase transition temperature. Furthermore, the heat storage unit 2 is configured to store heat or release heat in response to a phase change between the first phase state and the second phase state, and to be able to be switched over between a heat storage mode for storing the heat of the cooling water in the heat storage unit 2 and a heat radiation mode for releasing the heat stored in the heat storage unit 2 to the engine 1.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 1 |
