PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a device for receiving a response frame from each controller, after broadcasting the frame from a diagnostic tool to respective controllers, and relaying the response frame to the diagnostic tool, while preventing time out of each controller.SOLUTION: A gateway device 1 broadcasts a request frame from a diagnostic tool 2 to a plurality of ECUs, upon receiving a request frame indicating broadcast from the diagnostic tool 2 to a plurality of ECUs 30, holds the received response frame in a buffer, upon receiving the response frames that are transmitted from the plurality of ECUs in response to reception of the response frame, and then relays the response frame held in a buffer to the diagnostic tool. Furthermore, the gateway device 1 transmits a standby instruction frame for instructing standby so as not to time out, to the ECU transmitted the response frame.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 11 |
