PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a printer which inhibits the occurrence of paper jam.SOLUTION: A printer 2 performs printing to a recording medium 4 and includes: a housing 6 having a discharge port for discharging the recording medium 4 to the outside; a carriage 24 which is disposed within the housing 6, reciprocates in a predetermined direction, and has a recording head 30 for printing; and a cover member 14 which is provided in the discharge port 12 so as to open and close. The housing 6 has a holding part 17 which holds the cover member 14 in a closed state. The cover member 14 has a protruding part 18 which protrudes from the cover member 14 into the housing 6 in a state where the cover member 14 is closed. The protruding part 18 is provided at a position such that a part of the carriage 24 contacts the protruding part 18 when the carriage 24 moves in the predetermined direction in a state where the cover member 14 is closed.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 3 |
