The present invention relates to a method for estimating the location of a mobile node and a device thereof. According to the present invention, the method for estimating the location of a mobile node in a wireless network including a plurality of fixed nodes comprises: a step of estimating the distance between a reference fixed node and the other fixed node; a step of extracting the frequency shift for a plurality of fixed nodes individually, by using the estimated distance and an actual known distance; a step of reflecting the frequency shift for fixed nodes individually to the extended Kalman filter; a step of estimating a distance difference between the reference fixed node with the mobile node as the center and the other fixed node by using a time difference of arrival (TDOA) method; and a step of estimating the location of the mobile node by reflecting the estimated distance difference and a common frequency shift state variable for fixed nodes individually to the extended Kalman filter. According to the method for estimating the location of the mobile node and the device thereof, the number of transmission packets for the location estimate of the mobile node is reduced, by using an algorithm that the TDOA method with OWR is reflected in the extended Kalman filter so as to reduce the processing time and increase the number of mobile nodes which can be processed at the same time. |
