The present disclosure relates to a method and device for processing an application program, which relate to the field of electronic terminals and can effectively save the processing resources of electronic terminals and improve the utilization efficiency of the resources. The method of the present disclosure mainly comprises: switching an application program from running in the foreground to running in the background, wherein a process of the application program comprises a user interface (UI) process and a logical process; and ending the UI process of the application program, and continuously running the logical process of the application program. The embodiments of the present disclosure are mainly used in the process of processing an application program of an electronic terminal.
