<p>PURPOSE:To obtain a fragrant composition which can give a persistent fragrance, by subjecting a solution containing a metal alkoxide, a perfume and water to hydrolysis in the presence of a sol-gel process acid catalyst and polycondensing the hydrolyzate in the presence of a sol-gel process basic catalyst. CONSTITUTION:A sol-gel process acid catalyst is added to a solution or dispersion containing a metal alkoxide, a perfume and water to hydrolyze the metal alkoxide. A sol-gel process basic catalyst is added to this reaction mixture to polycondense this hydrolyzate into an inorganic polymeric compound. In this way, a fragrant comprising the inorganic polymeric compound matrix formed fro the metal alkoxide, in which particles of the perfume are encapsulated or incorporated can be obtained. This composition is mixed with, e.g., a printing ink, a paint or a printing material for clothing, and the obtained mixture can be made into, for example, fragrant furniture, clothing, cosmetics, building materials, magnetic cards such as telephone cards, etc.</p> |
