A software upgrade method of a terminal. The method comprises: a second terminal receives a first message broadcast by at least one first terminal, the first message comprising information about application software maintained by the first terminal; the second terminal determines whether application software that can be upgraded exists on the second terminal according to the information about the application software maintained by the first terminal; when it is determined that the application software that can be upgraded exists on the second terminal, send an upgrade request to the first terminal; and the second terminal receives an upgrade response returned by the first terminal according to the upgrade request, and downloads upgrade data for the application software that can be upgraded; and update the application software according to the upgrade data for the application software that can be upgraded. The method can implement software upgrade between terminals, and terminals can still implement the software upgrade when terminals are not connected to the Internet or no related upgrade service exists on the Internet. |
