PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a mechanism which shortens the release time lag compared with the case of full screen exposure during trimming zooming under a flickering light source to expand photo opportunities.SOLUTION: An image pickup device comprises: an image pickup element 103; shutter control means for performing exposure of the image pickup element 103 by driving a shutter 104 depending on imaging instructions; setting means 115 for setting a zoom factor depending on a user operation; flicker detection means 108 for detecting flicker depending on a light intensity and frequency of a light source; and clipping means for clipping a partial region of the image pickup element 103 depending on the set zoom factor. The shutter control means controls drive timing of the shutter 104 so as to cause exposure of the partial region of the image pickup element 103 clipped depending on the zoom factor to be started and ended within a period of a full screen exposure of the image pickup element 103 in the case where the zoom factor is set by the setting means 115 and flicker is detected by the flicker detection means 108.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 4 |
