Disclosed is a terminal control method. The method comprises: when an electromyographic signal sent by an electromyographic signal detection apparatus is detected, a terminal acquires a characteristic value of the detected electromyographic signal, the characteristic value being an average value and/or a variance of wavelet coefficients obtained by performing wavelet decomposition of the electromyographic signal; when the acquired characteristic value matches a characteristic value in a mapping between preset characteristic values and control codes, the terminal determines a control code corresponding to the matching characteristic value; and the terminal responds to the control signal corresponding to the control code. Also disposed is a terminal control system. In the present invention, a terminal is controlled according to a gesture or motion; without the need to arrange an additional control button on the electromyographic signal detection apparatus, the electromyographic signal detection apparatus can directly send a corresponding electromyographic signal according to a motion of a user; and therefore the terminal control system occupies a small space, is convenient to carry and is flexibly controlled. |
