Provided is an actuator for a link mechanism for an internal combustion engine, the actuator being configured so that each constituting part can be assembled with improved work efficiency and so that cost can be reduced. An actuator for a link mechanism for an internal combustion engine is provided with: an arm link (13) rotatably connected to the other end of a control link (12); a second control shaft (11) press-fitted into and affixed to the arm link; a housing body (28) having a support hole (30) for rotatably supporting the second control shaft; and a second receiving chamber (28b) provided within the body so as to be perpendicular to the axis of the support hole and provided so as to be capable of receiving the location where the arm link and the control link are connected. The housing body is configured such that: the housing body has formed therein three through-holes (66-68) passing from the outer surface to the inside of the second receiving chamber in the axial direction of the second control shaft; the front ends of the three insertion support sections (72-74) of a support jig (70), the front ends being insertable into and extractable from the through-holes, are caused to protrude into the second receiving chamber; and one side surface of the arm link received and disposed within the second receiving chamber is in contact with and supported by the flat front end surfaces of the insertion support sections.
