The present invention relates to a pharmaceutical composition for the prevention or treatment of liver fibrosis or liver cirrhosis. More specifically, the composition includes gold preparations. According to the present invention, the pharmaceutical or dietary supplement composition includes the gold preparations as an active ingredient in order to accelerate the transformation of macrophages and increase the expression of TREM-2, thereby suppressing the activation of stellate cells and preventing, alleviating, and treating liver fibrosis or liver cirrhosis. The gold preparations, and more specifically, the sodium aurothiomalate or aurothioglucose similar to auranofin and the auranofin are proven to have little side effects after being used to treat other purposes (rheumatoid arthritis) for an extended period of time. |
