PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for renewing coke oven batteries of a coke oven while keeping the operation efficiency of the coke oven high.SOLUTION: The coke oven includes: a plurality of coke oven batteries 12A-12D disposed in one column; and one existing coal tower 4 which is disposed in an intermediate part of the plurality of coke oven batteries and used for supplying coal to each of the plurality of coke oven batteries. Renewal work is performed on the coke oven battery 12A parted from the existing coal tower 4 and then on the coke oven battery 12B adjacent to the existing coal tower 4 in this order. Before the renewal work is performed on the coke oven battery 12B adjacent thereto, a new coal supply device 14 is disposed adjacently to the parted coke oven battery 12A. |
