[Also in Group XI] An apparatus for laminating plastics materials, e.g. polyvinyl chloride webs 11, 13 to wood foil 12, comprises two electrodes 3, 4 connected across a high-frequency field source 5, and a press ram 2 carrying the electrode 3 and a punch device 7 adjacent the electrode 3. The webs 11 . . . 13 are advanced intermittently, the ram 2 descending during stationary periods of the webs to weld the section 16 between the electrodes and simultaneously to sever the welded section 15. |
