The medicinal adapter (1') has a housing, a connection device (3) for detachable attachment of the dental instrument to the adapter, and another connection device (4) for detachable connection of the adapter with the fluid source or a drive unit. A sensor unit (5) is provided with a sensor for detection of a parameter of a drive-cleaning or maintenance medium assigned to the instrument or a drive movement assigned to the instrument. A transmitting-or receiving unit (6) is designed to receive or dispense data detected by the sensor unit. An independent claim is included for a method for detecting for detecting starting, cleaning or maintenance of medicinal, particularly dental instruments. |
