PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an optical fiber cutting device that is able to cut an optical fiber so as to stably form a satisfactory cross-section.SOLUTION: An optical fiber cutting device comprises: a loading part on which an optical fiber is loaded; a feed cam axially rotated by an operation using an operation lever; a blade support member loaded on a direct-acting guide having a guide rail and a slide block, brought into contact with the feed cam, and linearly moved on the direct-acting guide by being pressed by the axial rotation of the feed cam; a blade loaded on the blade supporting member, moved as the blade support member linearly movers, and configured to form a cut in a side surface of the optical fiber loaded on the loading part; a body accommodating a loading part, feed cam, blade support member and blade; lid provided on the body such that it can be opened or closed; and a pressing member provided on the lid and configured to cut the optical fiber by pressing a side surface of the optical fiber opposite to a portion where the cut is formed. The feed cam and blade support member abut on each other in a place away from a line extended from the guide rail in the longitudinal direction thereof. |
