The invention relates to an operating method of a sewing machine (1) for sewing material parts (12) along seams. At least one sewing parameter is specified by utilization of the sewing machine, the seams are divided into a plurality of parameter seam sections (19, 20, 23, 21, 22). In addition, a sewing parameter value is assigned to each of the parameter seam sections (19, 20, 23, 21, 22). The material parts (12) are sewed from a seam starting point (17) along a sequence of operating seam sections (b1, c1, e1, f1, h1, i1) along the seams. The sequence of the operating seam sections provides a seam dividing manner independent of the seam dividing manner dividing the parameter seam sections. When converting between two subsequent operating seam sections (b1, c1; e1, f1; h1, i1), the sewing parameter values are adjusted automatically. If the convention is in sewing seam sections (19, 20, 23, 21, 22) having sewing parameter values different from the preset parameter values, the sewing parameter values are adjusted automatically. Accordingly, the operating method for simplifying sewing the material sections is provided. |
