<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for producing carbon nanotubes by which carbon nanotubes are produced in a high productivity without using an expensive apparatus, and to provide carbon nanotubes obtained by the method. <P>SOLUTION: A solid carbon-containing raw material such as polystyrene particles and catalyst particles such as nano-sized nickel particles are accommodated in a reaction vessel 30 having an inert gas atmosphere. Then, the inside of the reaction vessel 30 is heated by a heating device 1 such as a microwave heating device. Thereby, the carbon-containing raw material is decomposed in the reaction vessel 30 and carbon nanotubes are grown on the surface of the nano-sized catalyst particles. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2012,JPO&INPIT |
