摘要 A method of upgrading a 1,500 rpm reactor coolant pump motor having a vertically oriented rotor shaft supported by a lower guide bearing disposed in an oil reservoir. The method includes removing a lower guide bearing support to enhance circulation of the oil to facilitate cooling of the oil and operating the reactor coolant pump motor at 1,500 rpm without the lower guide bearing support or the oil baffle or flinger ring attached to the lower guide bearing support. The method further includes thickening a keeper to support the guide bearing.
