A display device includes: a substrate including a plurality of pixel areas; a thin film transistor formed on the substrate; a pixel electrode connected to the thin film transistor and formed in at least one of the plurality of pixel areas; a roof layer formed on the pixel electrode to be spaced apart from the pixel electrode by a microcavity therebetween; an injection hole formed on the roof layer so as to expose a part of the microcavity; a liquid crystal layer configured to fill the microcavity; at least one support member adjacent to the injection hole and formed in a column shape in the microcavity; and an encapsulation layer formed on the roof layer so as to cover the injection hole to seal the microcavity. |

1. A display device, comprising:
a substrate; a thin film transistor disposed on the substrate; a pixel electrode connected to the thin film transistor; a roof layer disposed on the pixel electrode to be spaced apart from the pixel electrode by a plurality of microcavities therebetween; a liquid crystal layer disposed in the plurality of microcavities; an encapsulation layer disposed on the roof layer, the encapsulation layer comprising a contact portion contacting the liquid crystal layer; and at least one support member disposed adjacent to the contact portion in at least one microcavity in the plurality of microcavities; wherein a cross sectional area of the microcavities decreases in a direction towards the contact portion. |
