<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a vibration-proof material which is light and excellent in vibration-proof characteristics, and excellent in chemical resistance and hydrolysis resistance; and to provide a vibration-proof member having such characteristics. <P>SOLUTION: The vibration-proof material includes at least (A) a 4-methyl-1-pentene-α-olefin copolymer meeting the following requirements, (a), (b), (c) and (d). (a) Being composed of a structural unit (i) derived from 15 to 75 mol% of 4-methyl-1-pentene and a structural unit (ii) derived from 25 to 85 mol% of α-olefin. (b) The limiting viscosity [η] measured in decalin at 135°C being in the range of 0.1 to 5.0 dL/g. (c) The molecular weight distribution (Mw/Mn) being in the range of 1.0 to 3.5.
