DATA ACCESS APPARATUS AND OPERATING METHOD THEREOF

A memory management unit (MMU) is based on each memory technology, and interfaces with a heterogeneous memory system that includes various types of storage media related to one or more performance characteristics. The MMU receives a data access on the heterogeneous memory system from a virtual machine. The MMU also determines at least one of the storage media of the heterogeneous memory system to service the data access as a target storage medium. The target storage medium is related to the virtual machine and at least one among one or more performance characteristics related to the target storage medium, is selected based on at least a part of a service quality tag that indicates one or more performance characteristics and that indicates one or more performance characteristics, and transmits the data access by the virtual machine to at least one of the storage media.
