摘要 Disclosed is a method for producing a lubricating base oil. The method comprises subjecting a synthetic wax obtained by a gas-to-liquid process, or a lubricating-oil fraction separated from the synthetic wax, to hydrocracking, thereby obtaining a hydrocracked oil having a normal paraffin content of 30% or greater and 50% or less; and subjecting the hydrocracked oil to hydroisomerization dewaxing in the presence of a hydroisomerization catalyst, wherein the lubricating base oil has a volume resistivity at 80° C. of 1 TΩ·m or greater, and a volume resistivity at 25° C. relative to the volume resistivity at 80° C. that satisfies conditions represented by the following formula (1):;B(25° C.)/A(80° C.)≧1.5;wherein in formula (1), A (80° C.) indicates the volume resistivity at 80° C. of the lubricating base oil, and B (25° C.) indicates the volume resistivity at 25° C. of the lubricating base oil.
