PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a linear motion actuator and a non-stage transmission having the linear motion actuator which can be controlled quickly and secure high reliability.SOLUTION: A linear motion actuator and a non-stage transmission having the linear motion actuator includes a sensor 19 for axial direction displacement which detects a displacement amount in an axial direction, and a pivotal arm 35 for displacement detection which comes into contact with an axial end portion 12a of an axial direction displacement element at the sensor 19.
