The present invention relates to an electrically heated aerosol- generating device (102) for use in an aerosol-generating system. The device comprises a housing having a proximal end and a distal end, a cavity (132), provided in the proximal end of the housing, configured to receive an aerosol-generating article, a power supply, at least one electrical heating element and a plurality of electrical contacts provided at the distal end of the housing. The external surface of the housing adjacent the proximal end comprises a protrusion (204) having at least one surface substantially perpendicular to the surface of the housing and facing the proximal end, the at least one surface not having a component of direction parallel to the longitudinal axis of the device. The invention also relates to an electrically heated aerosol-generating system comprising such an aerosol-generating device. |
