PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method of tracking a target as the position of the target shifts and/or a camera's perspective of the target changes.SOLUTION: To track a target within a series of images, a target within a first image is detected at least partially based on a correspondence between the target and a stored reference template. A tracking template for tracking the target is created using the first image. The target within a second image is located using the tracking template.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 8
