An area sensor device (2) (optical rangefinder) detects objects by scanning a monitored area. From the detected objects, moving entities are specified, and the newest moving entity within the monitored area is set as the target to be tracked. A camera device (3) automatically tracks the moving entity that has been set as the target to be tracked. Thus, even if there are a plurality of moving entities within the monitored area, the target to be tracked can be switched, and a moving entity desired by a monitoring person can be set as the target to be tracked. |
