The present invention provides a retardation film and a manufacturing method thereof. The retardation film can have excellent viewing angle when applied to an IPS mode liquid crystal display device and prevent a retardation change caused by organic solvent erosion. Even though having a multilayered structure, the retardation film can be thinly manufactured, and the retardation film can be manufactured by a simple process. The retardation film includes: a stretched laminated body formed by stretching a laminated body comprising a first layer including a negative retardation material and a second layer including an isotropic material; and a stretched coating layer formed on the second layer of the stretched laminated body and including a positive retardation material.
