APPARATUS AND METHOD FOR ALLOCATING UPLINK RADIO RESOURCE

The present invention relates to an apparatus and a method of allocating uplink radio resource. The apparatus comprises: a setting unit for allocating uplink to a plurality of resource blocks (RBs) in a cell of a mobile communication system; a collection unit for collecting a received signal strength indicator (RSSI) of an area of the uplink allocated to each of the RBs through the setting unit; an operation unit for dividing the RBs into an upper RB and a lower RB according to a RB index based on frequency band preset to the cell and calculating average of the RSSI collected through the collection unit, for the upper RB and the lower RB; and an allocation unit for comparing the average of the RSSI of the upper RB calculated through the operation unit with the average of the RSSI of the lower RB calculated through the operation unit and controlling allocation of the uplink in the cell according to the comparing result. The apparatus compares the RSSI of the divided RB area, considers a method of allocating uplink of adjacent cells according to the comparing result and then controls allocation of uplink of reference cell, thereby increasing throughput of the uplink of the cell through retransmission at a boundary area of the cell and augmentation of signal to noise ratio (SNR) of traffic of the uplink.
