1. A separator for a rechargeable lithium battery, comprising:
a polymer substrate; and a coating layer comprising a hydroxide compound disposed on the polymer substrate wherein the hydroxide compound comprises Al(OH)3, Mg(OH)2, Ti(OH)4, or Si(OH)4, or a combination thereof and is present in the coating layer at 50 wt % to 90 wt % based on the entire weight of the coating layer; and wherein the coating layer is positioned between the polymer substrate and an active material layer in the rechargeable lithium battery. |
