The present invention relates to an apparatus and a method for testing a microphone. The apparatus for testing a microphone comprises: a speaker to generate a sound source; a sound transfer medium extended into a test room to propagate a sound; and an analyzer to receive a sound signal from the microphone in direct contact with the sound transfer medium in the test room to analyze the sound signal. According to the present invention, the sound propagated through the sound transfer medium is directly received in spite of external noise produced by environment creation equipment to perform an accurate test. Since a free sound field is maximally realized through the sound transfer medium to replace an anechoic chamber, test equipment manufacturing costs can be markedly reduced.
