PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a semiconductor device having a novel constitution.SOLUTION: A semiconductor device which performs pipeline processing and comprises a first computing unit and a second computing unit in an execution stage, and transistors for performing power gating respectively provided in the first computing unit and the second computing unit. By causing the transistors to operate to supply power to only the computing unit which performs calculation, fine-grained power gating can be performed and low power consumption of the semiconductor device can be achieved. The transistor for performing power gating has an oxide semiconductor in a channel formation region and can achieve reduction in leakage current between power source lines. The transistor for performing power gating can be provided in a layer other than a transistor included in the computing unit, area overhead caused by the increased transistor can be reduced.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 1
