PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for producing a high quality graphite film having reduced contamination of impurities by an arbitrary number of layers on any part of the surface of any substrate in a relatively mild temperature environment without using combustible gas, and to provide a raw material suitable for the method.SOLUTION: A first graphite film manufacturing method of the present invention forms a graphite structure by decomposing and condensing an aromatic compound generating radicals on its aromatic ring by being decomposed by heating and/or light irradiation. A second graphite film manufacturing method of the present invention forms a graphite structure by applying onto a substrate a composition obtained by dispersing and/or dissolving an aromatic compound generating radicals on its aromatic ring by being decomposed by heating and/or light irradiation, to a solvent, and then by heating and/or light irradiation of the composition.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 2 |
