A pilot frequency symbol transmitting method, receiving method and transmitter, and receiver, capable of being used for channel estimation of a channel that changes considerably. The pilot frequency symbol transmitting method comprises: generating offset quadrature amplitude modulation (OQAM) symbols included on at least two sub-bands; respectively mapping the OQAM symbols on each sub-band to individual subcarriers, and obtaining frequency domain signals, a first frequency interval being provided between neighboring subcarriers in the same sub-band, a second frequency interval being provided between neighboring subcarriers between two neighboring sub-bands, and the second frequency interval being greater than the first frequency interval; using pilot frequency symbols having continuous time domains and the frequency domain signals to generate a filter bank multi-carrier (FBMC) signal mapped to the pilot frequency symbols, the pilot frequency symbols being mapped to the second frequency interval; and transmitting to a receiver the FBMC signal mapped to the pilot frequency symbols, such that the receiver extracts the pilot frequency symbols from the FBMC signal for channel estimation.
