PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an IC card, a portable electronic device, and an IC card control method that can efficiently operate security status.SOLUTION: According to an embodiment, an IC card includes communication means, data storage means, selection means, and succession means. The data storage means stores a file managed in a hierarchical structure, a folder at a higher level in the file, and information on the succession of a key used for secure messaging among a plurality of folders. If the selection means receives a command to request selection of a second folder by the communication means during selection of a first folder, it makes the second folder specified by the command in a selected state. If there is information on succession of a key used for secure messaging from the first folder to the second folder, the succession means also makes the key used for the secure messaging established during selection of the first folder to be taken over by the second folder.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 2 |
