PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a micropump for delivery of medication which can use a flexible reservoir and realizes compact and flexible layouts.SOLUTION: A micropump for delivery of medication by infusion comprises: a pump housing; a piston 27 positioned in the pump housing and having a longitudinal piston axis; and a motor adapted to rotate the piston about the piston axis. The pump housing has an axial opening receiving the piston, a first aperture 44 positioned radially with respect to the piston axis and communicating with a reservoir, and a second aperture 43 radially positioned with respect to the piston axis and fluid communicating with a cannula. The micropump may be used in a disposable pump for continuous infusion of medication such as insulin.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 5 |
